Our November 2021 group meeting will be an evening of inspiration! Keynotes, John Busacker and Dave Johnson will joining us to share a message based on their new book “Gasping for Breath: Inviting God’s Spirit Into Your Overwhelmed Life.” Joel Hanson, worship pastor at Church of the Open Door, will share his gift of music with us. We will also learn about two local ministries, SoulCare for Souls and Upturnships, and brainstorm ideas to propel them to new stages of growth in their work.

ABOUT THE KEYNOTES

DAVID JOHNSON is a pastor, author, and speaker who served as senior pastor at Church of the Open Door in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for thirty-eight years. His deep commitment to biblical integrity along with a capacity to communicate it clearly with an unvarnished style has made him a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally.

David’s undergraduate work at Bethel University was followed by postgraduate work at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is the author of The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse and Joy Comes in the Mourning and is presently the founder and executive director of Things That Remain.

Though living in Minneapolis since 1980, David and his wife, Bonnie, grew up in Chicago and remain “fully devoted followers” of the Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls. They have four grown children and ten fabulous grandchildren.

JOHN BUSACKER is a writer, speaker, and entrepreneur. He is the founder of Life-Worth, a leadership development and life planning consulting firm. He has delivered presentations, facilitated workshops, and orchestrated conferences on six continents, engaging such issues as personal leadership, authentic faith, and holistic generosity.

His groundbreaking Leadership Studios curate inspiring environments, subject matter expertise, and experiential service learning into a transformational development journey for men and women desiring to steward their life and leadership with wisdom and intentionality.

John is the author or coauthor of several books, including do less, be more: The Life-Changing Power of Focus, Dare to Answer: 8 Questions That Awaken Your Faith, and Inspiring Generosity: Stories of Faith and Grace in Art.

John’s passion for people extends globally, supporting the development needs of leaders with a variety of nonprofits and faith-based organizations in the U.S. and sub-Saharan Africa.

He and his wife, Carol, live outside Minneapolis, Minnesota, and have two married children and three exuberant grandchildren.
