June 25th Group Meeting

Tuesday, June 25th
5:00 p.m.

christ presbyterian church

Join us on Tuesday, June 25th for food, fellowship, and fun!

Join us as we amplify two local organizations, Upper Room and Disability Support International. Each organization will share a 15 minute presentation outlining a challenge or opportunity their organization is facing. You will then have 30 minutes to brainstorm in small groups, sharing ideas, and offering connections to amplify their work.

Jordan Michael
, vocalist, theater actor, and author will kick off our meeting bringing selections from his extensive catalog of big band, Broadway, and classic hits. His smooth vocals fill the room with energy wherever he performs. Diagnosed as a child with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), Jordan has never let his ‘different ability’ keep him from sharing his love of music with others. He is the author of “Things I Know – My Disability Does Not Define Me,” a book of his own photography paired with personal life reflections and encouragement for others living with disability.

Amplify Partner, Mark Hirschfeld and Duanne Wyatt, founder of Morse Code Youth Outreach are bringing you a powerful impact story at our June meeting.

Duane Wyatt, founder of Morse Code Youth Outreach, stumbled across Amplify’s website in search of development support in 2022. The organization is focused on exposing young people to the wonderful world of communication using amateur radio. After hearing the challenges and goals Wyatt shared, Amplify reached out to long-time partner Mark Hirschfeld, Vice President of Consulting Services at BI Worldwide and made a connection for consulting and mentoring services. Working together over the past year, an idea sparked in Hirschfeld to write children’s books that help tell the stories of the people behind organizations like Morse Code Youth Outreach. They got to work and together, Wyatt and Hirschfield recently published “Dots & Dashes: Duane Learns the Magic of Morse Code.”

Join us to hear this incredible story of friendship and collaboration that highlights the powerful ripples of impact that occur when Amplify partners and nonprofit leaders connect and collaborate!
