Realigning for Greater Impact: Business Leaders Rally Around Two Nonprofits at Amplify’s May AMP Session

May 5, 2026

“What does it look like to pause… and realign?”

Not because something is broken, but because you sense there is more.

At our May AMP Session, we were invited into that very question.

The evening began with a powerful message from Laura King, executive recruiter, author of Shine Brighter, and a leader who has spent more than two decades walking alongside high performers as they pursue clarity, purpose, and meaningful impact.

Grounded in her faith and identity as a child of God, Laura shared reflections from her own journey—an ongoing invitation to wake up, realign, and lead with intention.

When we lead from a deeper sense of purpose, our impact doesn’t just grow; it multiplies.

And that set the tone for the work that followed.

The focus then turned to two nonprofit leaders who stepped forward with real challenges and a willingness to invite others in.

Two nonprofit leaders.
Two important questions.
One room full of people ready to listen, contribute, and help move the work forward.

Light of Hope Kenya, founded by Boni and Sandy Karanja, provides refuge, restoration, and redirection for vulnerable girls in Naivasha, Kenya who have experienced trauma, neglect, or hardship. Through safe housing, education, Christian mentorship, and holistic care, young women are given the opportunity to heal, grow, and step into their God-given potential—breaking cycles of poverty for generations to come.

Boni invited the room into a critical question:

How can Light of Hope Kenya increase engagement in the U.S. to build long-term support, volunteer involvement, and corporate partnerships?

Leaders leaned in—offering ideas around storytelling, donor pathways, partnership strategies, and ways to create meaningful connections across distance and culture.

Next, Southern Valley Alliance, led by Executive Director Christie Larson, shared about its work providing crisis support, advocacy, and education for victims of domestic abuse across Scott and Carver counties.

Through partnerships with law enforcement, legal systems, and community services, Southern Valley Alliance is helping create safer communities and pathways toward healing.

Christie’s question to the room:

How can Southern Valley Alliance effectively engage businesses to build mutually beneficial partnerships?

What followed was the kind of collaboration that defines Amplify.

You brought ideas.
You offered connections.
You helped reframe challenges into opportunities.

Together, we explored how businesses and nonprofits can move beyond transactional support into partnerships that create lasting impact for organizations, communities, and the people they serve.

This is what happens when people show up with open hands and a shared purpose.

When we are willing to realign. To listen. To contribute what we have.

Because every insight shared, every connection made, and every step of obedience moves the work forward.

And that is the work of Amplify.

In Their Own Words
