Meeting Recap – November 2020

Tuesday, November 12- The room filled with Amplify partners and guests as more than 100 people packed into our room to hear Steve Tourek’s message “Spreading Hope” and supporting emerging ministries’ passion to build the Kingdom. Thank you to all the partners and guests who were in attendance! In case you missed it, here’s a quick recap of the evening and a way to “connect” even further!
Play to Your Strengths program director, Madie Hulbert, opened our meeting in song. Amplify Executive Director, Julie Eide reviewed our Amplify Partner Pledge to commit ourselves to being present and using our gifts to build the Kingdom of God. Our ministry Shout-Out this meeting came from new member to Amplify’s Learning Academy, Edith Hudson of Ediths House.
Steve Tourek kicked off our evening sharing insights and challenges on what it means to spread hope. Steve encouraged us to consider our world view and what God is calling us to do. Executive Director of Play to Your Strengths, Steve Gahagen, shared statistics about the suicide epidemic among today’s youth and challenged us to consider how letting more kids know that they are loved and uniquely gifted by God with strengths is creating deeper and more meaningful connections and community through Play to Your Strengths. Ben Griswold, Wildflyer Coffee, talked about the lack of viable jobs and life skills for homeless youth and their dream to change that. Griswold shared an exciting update about their capital appeal and dreams to open their first retail location. Wildflyer’s ask- how can you help us achieve our goal in opening our first retail location- they are looking for marketing, commercial design and retail advisors.
