September 10- Making disciples of all the nations. … Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.” Matthew 28:18-20. Amplify partners heard from guest speakers who are reaching out to those beyond traditional church walls with the message, hospitality and heart of Jesus Christ.
Rev. Jodi Houge shared the story of Humble Walk, a church in St. Paul with a mission to gather community and worship, extending God’s invitation outward, even into some unlikely places so that all people may know of God’s healing love. Houge challenged us to think, WHAT IF? “What if we trusted God to move through all of our dreams and visions? What if we trusted the dreamers in this room? God trusted Paul, God trusted Lydia, God trusts the leaders in this room. Don’t forget that. God has trusted us from the very beginning.”
ERIC CHAVOUSTIE presented on LIFE ON LIFE MENTORING, a ministry focused on enhancing mentorship programs for longitudinal success, bringing the message of Christ through words and action. Seeking to reduce trauma on kids of short-term mentors, Eric’s program provides coaching and ongoing support for mentors as they walk alongside their mentee for many years. His question, how do I get ministry partners to embrace and move to a model for sustainable relationships so we can give kids excellent mentorship experience?
